Hello all...I'm writing this entry sitting in the dark on our en suite toilet at 4am so as not to wake Mrs C ....bloody jetlagged.
Following our flight from dubai yesterday we arrived in Perth early afternoon. It was fun at airport trying to spot fellow passengers who would be on our tour....scary too. It quickly became apparent that I could feasibly be most of their son and in a few cases Nik could be their granddaughter. ....FASHION ALERT. ....socks with sandals!!! However there are about 3 other couples just a bit older than us and the the oldies all seem nice even if a few look like Yoda on a good day.
We had an orientation meeting yesterday evening ..Our guide in Australia is Pamela (not Pam as I found out) who is a no nonsense girl from Sydney who takes no shit from anyone but I'm trying to win her over with my charm though she's a bit young for that.
Perth seems a lovely place though we didn't see much yesterday. ..temperature going to be up to 40 today for our first full day....A boat trip to freemantle followed by an evening meal on another boat on the mighty Swan river that flows through Perth. Those who know my complete lack of sea legs will no doubt be having a good laugh already.....
had a nice meal last evening with a couple of beers too....seven quid a beer though....before bed managed to find the sports channels on TV so hopefully can keep up with the latest though in typical Australian style it's all about how they are gonna wipe the floor with us poms at cricket world cup.
There has been little rain here for months and apparently Perth is currently surrounded by out of control bush fires giving the sky a slightly hazy look.
that's about all for now going to try and get some sleep before wake up alarm in a couple of hours. .hopefully next post will contain some pics of our coming day....G' day Sport.....
